Monday's 10 Things

Here's what I'm most thankful for, right now!
~
1. Access to my parents cottage for an entire week which means lots of time catching minnows and taking paddle boat rides with my girl.
2. Several play dates last week at the cottage and chances to catch up with friends.
3. An entire Saturday spent with just the three of us.
4. Slightly cooler temperatures, I just want to be outside as much as possible!
5. Another healthy check up for our little guy.
6. The reassurance that comes from feeling him moving constantly,
(although if he could find a way to be still in the middle of the night, I wouldn't totally mind!)
7. A newly cleaned craft room,
for the two seconds it will last!
8. Major progress on my garage sale project. Trying to price 3.5 years of girl clothes at once is a bit more overwhelming and time consuming than I thought it would be.
9. Looking forward to Claire starting school next week which means a little bit of a routine will return to our lives!
10. Hanging out with neighbors tonight when we all just happened to be at the same playground.
~
What are you most thankful for today?

Another week, another marathon.
Lots of fun again, but busy busy!Sunday morning with my girlTwo trips to the farmer's market this week.
This trip left us loaded up with sweet corn, peaches, and a donut for the kid!My head has been spinning with all the projects I'd like to accomplish prior to our little guy's arrival, and I find myself writing down more and more as items come to mind. Apparently my To Do list making habit has rubbed off on this girl!
Her list = 2 items. My list = about 2 million.Making Claire's countdown to school chain,
so much easier than explaining days/weeks to a three year oldHello 30 weeks!
Someone, slow this pregnancy down,
I can hardly believe how it's f.l.y.i.n.g. by!One thing almost checked off my list : set up new play room.
Inexpensive artwork thanks to ABC flashcards from Anthropologieand a little calm to end the week, lots of time holding this little peanut,
my niece, just 5 weeks old.

Happy weekend everyone!

Fresh Start Sunday

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I entrust my life.

Wow, this was a week!
Busy, busy, but lots of fun...Hello, Chicago!
It has kind of worked out that we make a few trips to Chicago each year,
one always being in the summer. This trip's agenda included Pinkalicious the Musical, and the Lincoln Park Zoo.
We try to keep it Claire-friendly!
Yay for baby boy bump at 28 weeks!but don't worry, even though the majority of the trip was about Claire, my one required stop while staying on the Magnificent Mile still happenedin hotel room relaxing after a long day
pregnancy = cute
kankles = not cuteback in Grand Rapids for a Monday night date to the Hillsong concert.
Highlight for me being an entire arena singing :

So I'll stand With arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the One who gave it all

So I'll stand My soul Lord to You surrendered
All I am is Yoursfinally, a more low-key day spent at my parent's cottage.
Not bad for a Tuesday afternoon if you ask me! trip to the farmer's market giving us sweet corn plus other fruits and vegetables.
I gave Claire the task of cleaning the corn,
for which she used a whole collection of her "tools" to do
(totally undressed under that apron by the way!)my first attempt at canning
wow, what a process, thankfully Eric was on hand to help!our first purchase for Little Guy's nursery,
from Rebel.Reclaimed, of course!

Happy weekend, everyone!

Chirp, Chirp...

So the blog has been a little quiet the last few weeks, I know.
It wasn't by design, but it's actually been kind of nice.
~
We spent a week in Grand Haven taking in the events of the Coast Guard festival
as well as throwing a backyard party for 50.and now we're back home trying to cram as much as possible into our last few weeks of summer vacation including a weekend in Chicago, a week at my parent's cottage, and final trips to places like the zoo and the gardens.so outside of occasional updates, it might just continue to be a little quiet around here for the next few weeks. And I hope you all are enjoying soaking up these last weeks weeks of summer as well!

New Wreaths @ Rebel

Hi all! The blog has been a little quiet this week. We've been out in Grand Haven enjoying some family time plus taking in the events of the annual Coast Guard Festival. The last few days have been hot and h.u.m.i.d. and this pregnant girl reached her limit of no AC in our summer place. So, we're home for a one night reprieve and will head back again tomorrow.
~
For now, here's four new wreaths that I dropped off at Rebel last week...see you all again next week!
