Small Hostess Gift

A girl from my MOPS group hosted us last week for dessert.
(side note: she had NO kids and NO husband for a week,
she wasn't even knowing what to do with herself by Tuesday!)
~
I wanted to bring just a little something along to thank her for hosting us.I put together a little gift of candy using a mason jar, and a 5 inch square piece of fabric. Simple, but a nice gesture none-the-less.
~
Hopefully she ate the candy up before her family returned home!

Valentine's Gift Tags

Our MOPS leader asked each of us discussion group leaders to make up small Valentine cards for the girls in our group. MOPS is planning to give each mom a flower, and wanted us to include a little something with it.
~
For my cards, I turned to one of my favorite card-making supplies, paint samples!
Seriously, how can you go wrong with names like these...
Fusion
Sizzle
Fusion
Pink Singe
Hot To Trot
Radiant Rose
Fire & Ice
Burning Love Cute!

Jello Dessert

Let's say,
hypothetically speaking here...

that you attend MOPS.
actually, you're a discussion leader at MOPS.
and it's your group's turn to bring bunch.
and you do remember to email your group about bringing brunch.
yet you somehow forget.
that you're supposed to bring a fruit or a dessert.
until the night before.
after you get home late from Wednesday night activities at church.
and you need to come up with something quickly.
with ingredients that you have in the house.
i've got you covered.

Yummy Jell0 Dessert
(yes, some people call this a salad,
but I've yet to understand what qualifies it as a salad)
~
Ingredients:
1 can mandarin oranges
1 can pineapple chunks
1 banana
1 box vanilla instant pudding
1 container cool whip
Drain the cans of fruit keeping just a little of the juice. Slice banana. Mix all ingredients together, stir until smooth, top with cool whip.
~
See? Easy peasy.
MOPS brunch crisis averted, whew!
~
AND, if you're really good, you'll even blog about it the night before.
Oh yeah!

Crafty Christmas: MOPS Gifts

I just finished up my gifts for the girls in my MOPS group, with an entire day to spare, whew!
~
I made each of the girls a fabric zippered pouch in this fun Christmas fabric that kind of reminds me of scrapbook paper! I used an easy peasy tutorial found here.I made them assembly-line style and that seemed to work pretty well. It meant an entire night of cutting, then lots of ironing in the interfacing, sewing zippers, and finally, finishing off the sides.
I also made 8 unique tissue holders to put inside.
Also inside each is a candy cane, some Ghirardelli chocolate (YUM!), and hand sanitizer.
So they're all loaded up, ready to go. This afternoon, I plan to write little notes to each of the girls on the cards I made earlier, and this project is DONE! I hope they like them!

Crafty Christmas: Handmade Cards

In keeping with a handmade Christmas, I wanted to do a little something special for the girls in my MOPS group.
~
I'm working on a little sewing project for each of them which I'll share once they're finished. But in the meantime, I also made some handmade cards to include with each of their gifts.
~
There is just way too much great scrap booking paper out there, it was hard to not buy one of each in the Christmas section!
~
Here's a few of the cards:Now I really need to stop blogging, and finish up those gifts!

What a Week!

Okay, this week has been nutty. Hence, no posts.
~
But before we head out of town tomorrow (woo hoo!), I wanted to share a Bible verse with you that our speaker shared with us today at MOPS.
~
James 1:2-5
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
