If you follow Cora Anne on Facebook, then you've already seen this new pillow, but it occurred to me that it never made an appearance on the blog. Isn't it fun? This one sold right away, but more will be heading to Rebel soon!

Fresh Start Sunday

So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Insta-Friday

Happy Friday! And it's March, that means winter is done, right?!?
Here's a peek at our week...after being couped up with sick kids all last week, we were ready to get out! In the middle of a snow storm, my determination got the best of me and we headed out to our local gardens and sculpture park. Spring was in full force there. Deep breath, ahh!this time of year, they fill the gardens with all sorts of butterflies, so cool!we went out with friends on Saturday and left both kids with our babysitter. Yay! We got a text from her around 9 that Zachary had been crying for a bit, so I left this yummy drink behind and we headed for home. As luck would have it, he was totally happy by the time we got there, but I'm still so glad our babysitter wasn't afraid to call us home.this girl required an ultrasound at our local children's hospital. She thought it was so cool to get to go to the hospital, but once we were there, I could definitely sense her nervousness setting in. Praise the Lord, everything is fine!we blew through another vacuum this week. I probably average a new vacuum every two years...is that normal??? Maybe I just like to vacuum a lot? We've had a cleaning lady since just before Zachary was born, and Eric keeps telling me how good it has been for our marriage to have this "other woman" around. Ha!this new rug arrived for the kid's playroom.
happy, happy, happy!I've been working with Dann of Rebel.reclaimed on some new pillows and here are a few of the fabrics he selected. LOVE! Think he would notice if a few pieces of fabric just happened to disappear???The rule when using someone else's fabric that has no extra for error :
measure about a million times, cut once!
this arrived this week and I am determined I WILL find time to sit down and read it before next month's arrives. Maybe this weekend?and I'll leave you with my favorite picture this week of this little stud.
I love dressing him to look like an old man!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Square Wall Panels

It was just over a year ago that our living room was transformed into a scene from ET while our square wall panels were installed and painted. I absolutely loved how they turned out and pretty much wanted to plaster every wall in our house with squares. At the risk of going overboard though, I restrained myself and found just one more wall, this time in our basement, that I would have squares added to.
~
behold, I give you some marginal cell phone pictures...
before (TV belongs on that cabinet, but Eric had already moved it out of the way)
during : squares installedthe return of the ET house for paintingpeeking behind the plastic at the first coat of paintand finally, the finished product!
~
Our house is a ranch which means our downstairs family room is a bit of a bowling alley. This new wall works so well for breaking up and brightening up the space.
~
And now, I promise, no more squares....(maybe)

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!
~
I have to admit, Eric and I don't really get into Valentine's a whole lot.
We're now in the "we celebrate it for our kids" mode more than anything.teacher gifts, Claire's gift, red velvet pancake mix for dinner,
plus our Valentine's tablecloth...check, check, check!
Painting feet to stamp into heart shapes.
the four year old was ticklish as ever, the baby just sat oblivious to the fact that his feet were gooey and wet.This girl was majorly excited for her Valentine's party at school.
Valentine's is big stuff when you're a four year old girl, you know.I had 25 minutes between when I dropped Claire off at school and when I had to be back to her school to help with her class' Valentine's party.
Enter : my Valentine's treat!There's nothing cuter (or more exhausting) then spending an afternoon in a preschool classroom. God bless the preschool teachers for their energy and patience!
Look, even I got to decorate a cookie at preschool!meanwhile, this guy spent the afternoon at Papa & Grandma's house.and finally, breakfast for dinner. Red velvet pancakes, not too bad!
