Happy Friday, everyone!
~
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday with friends and family,
ours was very nice - very low key which is just how we hoped it would be!
~
Here's a bit about our week...
Sunday morning photo FAILI bought these in a moment of weakness while at the grocery store. And now that Eric is reading this, he'll know that these are somewhere in our house...let's see if he can find them!
Pacifier in the toilet. And that's all I'll be saying about our Tuesday.
We dipped into our canned peach supply this week and they were so good! This was my first year canning and now that I know it worked I'll probably do a lot more next year.
The first half of the week, Little Guy would open his eyes right up each night as we were ready to head to bed. Late night chats are great and all, but so is sleep. He's now over late night chats and more into late night screaming. So this is what our evenings now look like between the hours of 9-11.
My Peanut Shell sling just arrived and I'm totally intimidated,
but determined to make it work!YUM!Thanksgiving afternoon nap
first Christmas gift purchased - Little People Nativity Set
~
Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday, everyone!

Blogger was choosing to not cooperate last night as I tried to write this post,
but here it is, better late than never...
My sewing machine and I were best friends last week. I finally had time to sit down and see if I could make a pillow design a reality. This is my favorite kind of sewing project - no pattern, just a vision and figuring out how to make it happen.the first two ruffly/pleated pillows!
I also sat down to finish Little Guy's crib skirt. No pattern for this project either, and way more pinning and ironing than what I prefer, but I'm so proud of how it turned out!It was Claire's turn to bring Mr Bear home from school. She had the bear for one night and then had to document what she did with him. Here he is with us at the grocery store. Does anyone else find him just a tad bit creepy?!?Thursday morning was my 39 week doctor's appointment. I promised Claire we would have a girl's day after wards that included going out for breakfast. From there we headed to the mall and did some shopping to get her all set with winter gear. While I can't wait for Little Guy to make his arrival, I wouldn't trade the four years I've had with just Claire for anything.and a reward for a good check up?
one yummy cinnamon roll!off to her Halloween celebration at school.
We've had this costume for nearly 2 months and she was not allowed to touch it until it was time to put it on, so needless to say, this was a very big day!

Have a great weekend everyone, stay safe while enjoying your Halloween activities!

Wow, this was a week!
Busy, busy, but lots of fun...Hello, Chicago!
It has kind of worked out that we make a few trips to Chicago each year,
one always being in the summer. This trip's agenda included Pinkalicious the Musical, and the Lincoln Park Zoo.
We try to keep it Claire-friendly!
Yay for baby boy bump at 28 weeks!but don't worry, even though the majority of the trip was about Claire, my one required stop while staying on the Magnificent Mile still happenedin hotel room relaxing after a long day
pregnancy = cute
kankles = not cuteback in Grand Rapids for a Monday night date to the Hillsong concert.
Highlight for me being an entire arena singing :

So I'll stand With arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the One who gave it all

So I'll stand My soul Lord to You surrendered
All I am is Yoursfinally, a more low-key day spent at my parent's cottage.
Not bad for a Tuesday afternoon if you ask me! trip to the farmer's market giving us sweet corn plus other fruits and vegetables.
I gave Claire the task of cleaning the corn,
for which she used a whole collection of her "tools" to do
(totally undressed under that apron by the way!)my first attempt at canning
wow, what a process, thankfully Eric was on hand to help!our first purchase for Little Guy's nursery,
from Rebel.Reclaimed, of course!

Happy weekend, everyone!

My week, courtesy of the ever-awesome Instagram...
starting the week off right with one of my favorites, walking to church
what better way to prepare for worship than a nice family walk??I made chicken enchiladas for a family that just had a baby.
This is my go-to recipe when I have to bring someone a meal.
I'll share the recipe with you soon.
Eric brought me dessert in my craft room one night this week.
Neapolitan ice cream with strawberries on top.
That's true love, I tell you.
~
I would be just a little embarrassed to share how many strawberries exactly
Claire and I have consumed this week. Here's your hint : a lot.
Which brings me to my next picture...I'm at the point of my-pants-are-too-small but I-don't-want-to-wear-maternity-clothes-yet. So I tried the old rubber band trick. Yeah, the rubber band snapped within minutes of my putting it on. So, I went to Target and bought a belly band instead, which may just be my new BFF. Just saying.I had to run way more errands this week than I normally like to, in large part to a design project I'm working on (eek!) Thankfully, this girl was a champ and did super with all our running around town.our hydrangeas are blooming!!
So far this year they're looking healthier than ever, I can't wait to see how big they get!a little peek at something new I've been working on this week
(and I promise, the shop WILL reopen soon!)I really don't know what I do so right with flowers as I've never considered myself a green thumb, but wow, can I just say our flower box flowers are amazing?!?Two days this week reached 90+ degrees.
Sundresses and swinging were in order for this girl!
(and look at those curls!)

Happy weekend, everyone!

No, I promise I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth this week, just maybe fallen out of blog-land a bit. Here's a pathetic small bit from our week...my Spring-time allergies have e.x.p.l.o.d.e.d. this week. I try to stay completely un-medicated while pregnant (aside from my prenatals of course!) but finally caved this week and sought some relief. So worth it.Eric came home from a neighbors recently and couldn't stop raving about how they were eating Hamburger Helper for dinner and how good he thought it looked. So I humored him this week and we ate dinner from a box, not bad, not good, whatever.
So tragic. Yes, it's true they were only $8 and from Target,
but I wasn't ready to be done with them yet.Did you know that today is National Doughnut Day??
Free doughnuts?? Yes please!
Thanks to Jill @ Diaper Diaries for the tip.

Happy weekend, everyone!

Tuesday Randomness

Happy Tuesday, everyone!
How about some randomness???

1. On Saturday, while my mom and I were busy shopping at the Allegan Antiques Market,
Eric was attempting to get yard work done with Claire.

He tweeted about it, and this is what he wrote :

Yard work with a 3 year old as a helper is brutal.
#gettingNOTHINGdone #lookateverybug

If you ask me, hash tags are probably one of the funniest things on Earth.

2. I made my friend Abi's recipe for pulled pork BBQ yesterday and WOW was it ever good!
Even better, I get to eat the leftovers for lunch today!

3. Rebel.reclaimed is celebrating their one year anniversary this week, send them some love!
(or better yet, stop by the store and buy yourself a treasure!)

4. A picture of my gift tags was used yesterday in a post on the Etsy West Michigan blog.
Thanks Sara Lynn!
5. My craft room got a serious cleaning this weekend, much needed for sure. I crack up when people see these pictures and assume my craft room is always that clean. Next time it gets uber-messy I'll snap some pictures and reveal what it really looks like 90% of the time!

Happy Tuesday!
