Eames Chairs
During a little brainstorming session with Dann of Rebel.reclaimed on new designs for pillows, we knew we wanted pillows with one solid image on the front, and the idea of chairs came to me.
Since I'm drawn to any chair designed by Charles and Ray Eames,
I just knew this had to be the design we went with!

New Pillow Design
I've had this new pillow design bouncing around in my head for weeks now, and now that most of my "nesting projects" have wrapped up, I finally had time to sit at my machine and make it happen.
~
The linen that I used was inspired by this teal dresser that was available at Rebel.reclaimed...
and here it is...
...already on display at Rebel! The pillows feature two layers of ruffly/pleated goodness and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out!

Five Hours
Yesterday was a very unusual day for me....
I was kid-free.
For FIVE HOURS!
~
Eric was warned : the way you see the house when you leave for work
is exactly what the house will look like when you get home....
breakfast mess in the sink
beds not made
toys on the floor
~
I was off to my craft room,
and let me tell you...it was a good day!
ruffle flower pillows were finished
a new product was worked on
and I pulled together my latest delivery to Rebel Reclaimed, not bad.
~
And after all that, I was left feeling very caught up,
(and ready to have my Claire back home!)

So seriously, even if you don't live near Grand Rapids, go ahead and follow Rebel on Facebook just for the daily eye candy! And if you do live in Grand Rapids, go ahead and stop by the shop to see all the goodness for yourself!

Hired Help
My mother in law was kind enough to volunteer to help me with the ruffle-making mayhem over here, yay! It's been a very productive week, and having someone on board now to help is awesome!

What you may not know about these ruffle pillows it that they're not exactly the speediest project ever. Handmade definitely takes time...and unique, one of a kind handmade takes a lot of time! So worth it though for sure.

Good Question...
With all the talk about ruffle pillows around here, I've had a handful of people contact me directly wondering if the pillows will be available in my Etsy shop, and the answer is....
My goal is to have them in the shop early June while still keeping Rebel.Reclaimed sufficiently stocked for all of our Grand Rapids peeps. So that explains the major production overdrive lately! I'll be sure to let you awesome blog-readers know as soon as they come available, and thanks to everyone for your encouragement with this new product and your support, I really appreciate it!

**A small correction to my last pillow post**
the two pillows didn't just sell before I had a chance to post about them,
they sold before they even made it to the shop floor!
One was purchased by someone who saw me walking in with them,
and one was sold over the phone by someone who had seen pictures of my pillows online.
CRAZY!

With that being said, four new pillows made their way to Rebel today!
Three pillows have ivory ruffles on a natural background,
and one pillow was made with this fab
navy and ivory floral linen with a natural background.
so be sure to get down to Rebel when they open tomorrow,
these pillows aren't going to last long!

Allegan Antiques Market
(oops, this post is almost two weeks late!)
My mom and I headed to the Allegan Antiques Market for the first market of the year.
A major draw being that Rebel.Reclaimed was going to be there!
~
At this time last year, Eric & I had just finished renovating our summer place and needed furniture to fill it, so the market came in very handy. This year neither my mom nor I had any major agenda which actually made it really enjoyable, we could just wander and look at anything that caught our attention.
~
Here's what I walked away with :
lots of vintage buttons purchased from a cute elderly couple.some of the large buttons have already been used on ruffle pillows!
three rusty stars (for $2 each)I'm already wishing I had bought more!
three small blue pharmacy jars to use as bud vases duringour annual Coast Guard party
a small pedestal table to go next to a chair in the corner of my craft room,it may or may not stay white, I'm not sure yet
~
Lucky for me, Dann from Rebel snapped a picture of one of my pillows in action,
it had sold by the time I arrived!
