Craft Show Visitors
The best part of the craft show by far was the visitors we had!

Craft Show Recap
The way.too.long.anticipated craft show finally arrived! As luck would have it, I woke up to rain on Saturday morning, but thankfully it had passed by the time we arrived at St Pats. It remained hot and sticky the rest of the day, but we didn't feel a drop all day.

My mom, dad and I arrived at 8 am to begin setting up. I was convinced since the entire display had been set up in my basement for weeks that it wouldn't take long to set up once we arrived, but we still took about the entire two hours to get ready.
~
By the time the show started, I was so giddy about how it had all come together. The display came together exactly how I would have hoped. Here's a look!

By the time the show started, I was so giddy about how it had all come together. The display came together exactly how I would have hoped. Here's a look!

my mom and I set out to create a vintage feel in our display
we used items like an antique chair to add to the charm
the door was one we had taken out of our summer home. it was the exact length of the table and worked perfectly as a backdrop, and for displaying my yarn wreaths.
my dad has built a cradle and changing table for each of his grand kids. he made a set to sell at the show. they worked great for displaying items too!
and a few close views...
I don't anticipate participating in this same show again as it really didn't draw large crowds at all (a jewelry vendor near us only sold one pair of earrings all day, and another vendor of small sewn items had sold nothing at all). I do feel great about my display and product though, and certainly wouldn't rule out doing another craft show sometime in the future!

church is on the corner of US-31 and Fulton

Rain, Rain, Go AWAY!
Okay, we started out the week with the
prediction of 81 and sunny on Saturday.

Blogcation Recap
Blogcation was good...productive...necessary.

It looked something like this:
* i learned the art of assembly line production
(I don't like it, but it is efficient)
* 25 zippered pouches were made
*my craft bag was packed each weekend we headed out
* 10 pull string pouches were made
* tablecloths were sewn and my craft show display created
* craft show packaging is set, (thanks Eric!)
* 20 pillows were sewn
* my serger ran out of thread
* i wanted to say lots of bad words while trying to re-thread it
* i used google and you tube to try to figure out how to do it
* loads of cards and gift tag sets were made
* i made a serious dent in my fabric supply
(woe is me, I'm just going to have to buy some new fabric)
*we had a very enjoyable week-long family staycation
* 20+ yarn wreaths were made
* my summer's favorite things auto-posted, hope you liked them!
* we threw a backyard party for about 40 family & friends
* i did way too much stress eating
* 20 + flower pins were made
*i've decided it's time for the craft show to just hurry up and get here already!

Blogcation
St Johns : 2009This past week I drove past St. Pats where I will be participating in a craft show and I saw a huge banner outside announcing the craft show. First my heart skipped a beat of excitement, then it skipped about 10 beats out of sheer panic. I've accomplished a lot so far to prepare for the craft show, but I've got a lot yet to do. I really want to do it right, so I need to make sure I'm as prepared as I can be, and then some.
~
So, I'm signing off from blog-land for a bit. The nap-time/bed-time sweat shop is going to be in full force and I'm hoping to get as much inventory ready as possible. Plus I've got all sorts of yards of fabric waiting to be made into tablecloths for the show and displays to plan as well.
~
Not to mention, I think I've got some manual reading in my future while I attempt to figure out this bad boy...

Yarn Wreath #5
Ivory yarn and muted fabrics. All the wreaths I've made up to this point have been in much brighter colors, so this seems so nice for something a little different.
