This was a major "back to reality" kind of week for us as it was for a lot of people, but you know, it was actually really nice! I've had a whole list of projects that I've just been waiting for the craziness of summer to be done so I can work on, and it's as if Labor Day weekend hit and someone said, "ready, set go!"
something new in the works in some great new colors!We've been looking at lots of gray paint samples trying to come up with the best silver/gray color for Little Guy's nursery. We've got the painters lined up, they're just waiting on us, but grays are NOT easy! Any recommendations??? Also on my summer's over to do list was adding art to the kid's bathroom.

And in the midst of project-land, we sent this girl off for her first day at 4 year old preschool...and she just looks so big here I can hardly stand it!
Stop growing so fast please, dear child.and of course, back to school means a back to school feast
(complete with a full-sized pie for three people,
don't judge, I promise we didn't eat it all that night)

one last day at the cottage, ahh!
another trip to the Allegan Antiques Market,
leave it to this girl to spot something PINK!I spent way too many hours this week pricing every piece of clothing Claire has ever owned to get ready for a garage sale. I actually passed the 700 mark for number of pricing tags used, whew!seeing everything organized, labeled and ready to go is so worth it!
(now onto praying for good weather during the sale!)something clicked for this girl this week and she has
a new-found confidence on her bike.

Cupcake Party Planning

All along, we've said that we were not going to do birthday parties for our kids except on milestone years (1, 5, 10...). This funny thing happens though when your kid starts getting invited to other kid's birthday parties, and they realize that's what people do. So for Claire's 4th birthday, which happens to be exactly one month from today, we're doing a little party.

Here are my first few purchases for the party, all from Hey Yo Yo on Etsy...
I have a million ideas swirling in my head, but for now I'm just waiting for Claire to start school next week and then I'll have some time to start pulling it all together. I'm pretty certain I'm going to have one giddy little 4 year old!

Monday's 10 Things

Here's what I'm most thankful for, right now!

~
1. Access to my parents cottage for an entire week which means lots of time catching minnows and taking paddle boat rides with my girl.
2. Several play dates last week at the cottage and chances to catch up with friends.
3. An entire Saturday spent with just the three of us.
4. Slightly cooler temperatures, I just want to be outside as much as possible!
5. Another healthy check up for our little guy.
6. The reassurance that comes from feeling him moving constantly,
(although if he could find a way to be still in the middle of the night, I wouldn't totally mind!)
7. A newly cleaned craft room,
for the two seconds it will last!
8. Major progress on my garage sale project. Trying to price 3.5 years of girl clothes at once is a bit more overwhelming and time consuming than I thought it would be.
9. Looking forward to Claire starting school next week which means a little bit of a routine will return to our lives!
10. Hanging out with neighbors tonight when we all just happened to be at the same playground.
