Happy Halloween!

Enjoy this Witch's Brew recipe from Young Living's blog

Ingredients:
2 quarts fresh apple cider
1 orange, unpeeled and cut into slices
3 drops Lemon essential oil
1 drop Cinnamon Bark essential oil
1 drop Clove essential oil
1 drop Nutmeg essential oil
Cinnamon sticks, for stirring

Directions:
Combine apple cider, orange slices, and essential oils in a large pot
and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes or more.
Discard orange slices.
Serve warm.
Add 1–2 cinnamon sticks to individual cups when serving.

Cinnamon Rolls with Orange Icing

We’ve made it to Day 20 of Learn & Share!
Today is our last yummy recipe post (sad)
but we we *might* have saved the best for last:
CINNAMON ROLLS.

Bake them anyway you’d like, from scratch or pre-made.
Because really, the best part is the ICING, right??
Try adding a couple drops of Young Living's Orange Essential Oil
to the icing and DELICIOUS.

It’s like this cinnamony-orangey sweet treat--
you might not be able to eat just one

Pumpkin Spice Cake

 How about a Pumpkin Spice Cake recipe to kick off this Monday morning?
This recipe uses Nutmeg, Ginger and Cinnamon Bark essential oils---
I just love how you can incorporate these oils into baking and cooking!

Ingredients:
-1 1/4 cups butter
-2 eggs, beaten
-1 cup packed brown sugar
-1 1/4 cups white sugar
-1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
-3 cups all-purpose flour
-2 teaspoons baking soda
-1 teaspoon salt
-3 drops Cinnamon Bark essential oil
-1 drop Nutmeg essential oil
-1 drop Ginger essential oil
-1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour your pan(s).
Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, eggs, brown sugar, white sugar,
Cinnamon Bark, Nutmeg and Ginger essential oils until light and fluffy.
Beat in the pumpkin puree.
Beat in the flour mixture. Add pecans if desired.
Pour batter into prepared pan(s).

Bake in the preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes,
or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.
For extra yumminess, add a cream cheese frosting to this cake!

RC Essential Oil

It's Day 17 and even more importantly, it's FRIDAY! We made it!

Have you tried Young Living's RC for extra respiratory system support?
It's one of the oils included in the Premium Starter Kit.
RC Essential Oil Blend is a unique combination of Cypress, Spruce,
and three types of Eucalyptus (E. Globulus, E. Radiata, and E. Citriodora) oils,
and includes the naturally occurring constituent limonene.

This is a great one to apply topically to the chest area with a carrier oil.
Or even diffuse while sleeping. Just last night we heard our daughter
started to cough a bit as she was falling asleep,

Mulled Spiced Wine

Here's a yummy Mulled Spiced Wine recipe for you!
You may want to adjust the sugar amount, depending on your preferences.

3 herbal tea bags of your favorite Fall blend
One bottle of red wine
¼ cup sugar
5 drops Thieves
5 drops Orange

Add to a crock pot and let simmer to desired temperature.
Serve each glass with a stir stick, and recommend they stir before drinking.

Peppermint Brownies

Day 15 of Learn and Share!

Who doesn’t love brownies??
How about adding a little Peppermint to those brownies?
YUM!

This is the most simple thing ever.
Bake your brownies however you like (use a box, start from scratch, etc.)
At the end, add 3 drops Peppermint
(learn from my mistakes, I once over-added the Peppermint, and once it's in,
you can't take it back out : enter a larger brownie batch!)

Serve these at your next family gathering and be prepared to share your oily secret.

Thieves Household Cleaner

 It's day 14 of Learn & Share and let's talk about cleaners today.

Our respiratory systems take a beating during the Fall and Winter months,
even more so when we are using harsh chemicals to clean our homes.

From toilets to countertops to windows + mirrors, this cleaner can cover it all.
I made the switch to this cleaner a few months back and LOVE it.
I can clean without needing to change into my grubby clothes first,
and I can spray it near my family without being concerned about what I'm exposing them to.

This cleaner is highly concentrated (mix 1 part cleaner to 60 parts water
for light degreasing and 1 part cleaner to 30 parts water for medium degreasing)
meaning one bottle will last you a long time!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

 Heyyy Monday, it's Day 13 of our Learn and Share!

Let's talk Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies, shall we??
This recipe is perfect for this season,
and good-luck not eating all of the egg-free dough
before you actually bake them too!

Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
1 cup butter
1 (15 ounce) can Pumpkin
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 drop Nutmeg
2 drops Cinnamon Bark
Chocolate chips

Directions:
Cream sugar, butter, pumpkin, vanilla + essential oils together.
In a separate bowl, mix together flour and baking soda.
Slowly start adding flour to pumpkin mixture.
Mix well, then stir in chocolate chips.
Drop heaping spoonfuls onto baking sheet.
Bake at 375 for 12-15 minutes.

Fall Room Spray


It's Friday!
Today, let's try a Fall room spray in our homes,
to help achieve that “I-just-baked-pumpkin-bread-but-not-really” smell.

These handy sprays are good for the bathroom, or other small rooms as well.
You can purchase a glass spray bottle at any bottle store online.
My go-to sources are Abundant Health + Amazon.

This recipe uses a 4 ounce size bottle. Add a pinch of salt to the bottle first,
then 5 drops each of Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Nutmeg and Orange.
Finish off with distilled water and spray until your heart is happy
and your house smells amazing!

Hot Apple Cider

Day 9 of Learn & Share and nothing screams FALL,
like a warm and toasty mug of apple cider!

Spruce it up this year by adding essential oils to the brew,
they will not only make it extra tasty, but will support your immune system too!

In a crockpot, add apple cider plus some cinnamon sticks.
Warm over low heat.
Serve in individual mugs adding 2 drops Thieves to each cup,
plus a cinnamon stick to stir with.

Encourage your guests to stir before drinking.
If Thieves is too spicy, try Orange Essential Oil instead.

Walk in the Woods Blend

It’s Day 8 of Learn & Share and today I'm sharing a yummy Fall diffuser blend
called "Walk in the Woods"

If you don’t have some of the oils listed,
I’ve shared a few more that will help achieve the same scent below!
Try any of these scents for the men in your life too,
they make great "cologne" replacements!

3 drops White Fir
3 drops Sandalwood
3 drops Cypress

(Good replacement oils to achieve same scent:
Idaho Balsam Fir, Copaiba, Idaho Blue Spruce or Idaho Tansy)

Thieves!

Pumpkin Bread

 It's Day 6 of our Learn & Share!

Go ahead and invite some friends and family over to enjoy this yummy Pumpkin bread recipe
(and just think about how amazing your house will smell!) 
 Can be modified however you see fit

1 box of your favorite regular or gluten-free muffin mix
(follow directions on box and use add-ins below):

¼ cup pumpkin
1 cup dried cranberries
½ cup pumpkin seeds
3 drops Nutmeg oil
Optional - 2 drops Cinnamon Bark oil

Mix and bake in loaf pans according to instructions on the muffin mix box.

Let’s talk about an oil blend that is a fall/winter favorite: Raven.

This blend combines Ravensara, Lemon, Wintergreen, Peppermint and Eucalyptus Radiata. These oils are a combination of deeply soothing essential oils that will provide comfort when applied topically to the chest, the throat or diffused.

Fall Outdoor Spray

Day 4 of our October Learn & Share!

Fall is the perfect time to be outdoors and enjoying the changing weather!
Let's enjoy it "annoyance" free.

Here's an outdoor spray you can use in a 4 ounce glass spray bottle:

- 10 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
- 20 drops Purification Essential Oil
- 10 drops Citronella Essential Oil (optional)
- Pinch of salt
- Distilled water
Add all ingredients and shake before use!

Having a get together outside?
Use an extension cord to plug a diffuser in at the table and diffuse this same mixture
(cut down the amounts to 5 drops Peppermint, 5 drops Purification, 5 drops Citronella)

Enjoy the outdoors!

Fall Diffuser Blend

Tomato Soup


Nothing like starting the Fall season off with a creamy, warm bowl of Tomato Soup!
Enjoy this recipe, and use your Basil & Thyme oils to help enhance the flavor!
 
Ingredients:
 
· 28 ounce can of Muir Glen Organic Fire Roasted diced tomatoes

· 4 leeks, white part only, thinly sliced
· 6 cloves of garlic, minced
· 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, melted
· 1 cup of chicken broth
· 8.5 ounce Aroy-D coconut milk
· 1 drop Thyme EO
· 2 drops Basil EO
· Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
 
Combine all ingredients and heat up slowly until desired temperature.
