Inevitably,
the first few rainy Spring days followed by sunshine means that we find
a few little ants trying to make their way into our kitchen (yuck!) I
feel SO much better spraying this inside my house than any store-bought
insect repellent.
If
removing chemicals + toxic ingredients from your home is something
you're looking to work on, the first and easiest thing you can do is
ditch those toxic dryer sheets. Dryer sheets leave a chemical residue
on our clothes + linens, which ultimately can be absorbed through our
skin. We now use wool dryer balls instead, anywhere from 3-6 in each
load, with a drop of oil on each one. Dryer balls can be found on
Amazon.
It's
feeling way too much like Winter again here in Michigan, but the Spring
cleaning must go on! My steam mop is my regular, but when my floors
needs a really deep cleaning, this is my go-to recipe.
With
two kids + a golden retriever, our house needs vacuuming on a waaay
regular basis. I've recently discovered this little trick that makes
vacuuming a bit more enjoyable? or how about just multi-functional?? I
use Eucalyptus, but you could use whatever oil you prefer!
First
things first, let's clean our windows and let the sun shine in!
Try
this recipe for a streak-free shine. And since the recipe includes
Lemon Essential Oil, consider using a glass spray bottle, rather than
plastic (I find mine on Amazon).
Alright,
it's about that time of year when we need to start taking our homes
from serving as winter hibernation dens, to fresh + clean summer havens
(totally talking to myself here!)
For the next 12 days, I'll be
posting a spring cleaning tip or recipe every day, all to help as we
clean and freshen our homes, free of harmful chemicals + ingredients.
