Five Hours

Yesterday was a very unusual day for me....
I was kid-free.
For FIVE HOURS!
~
Eric was warned : the way you see the house when you leave for work
is exactly what the house will look like when you get home....
breakfast mess in the sink
beds not made
toys on the floor
~
I was off to my craft room,
and let me tell you...it was a good day!ruffle flower pillows were finisheda new product was worked on
and I pulled together my latest delivery to Rebel Reclaimed, not bad.
~
And after all that, I was left feeling very caught up,
(and ready to have my Claire back home!)

Fresh Start Sunday

LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

You have set your glory
in the heavens.

Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.

When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?

You have made them a little lower than the angels
and crowned them with glory and honor.

You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their feet:
all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,
the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.

LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Monday's 10 Things

Here's what I'm most thankful for, right now!
~
1. My mom, who will be celebrating a birthday this week.
She always has and continues to do so much for all of us.
2. Only a few more days until we finally get to meet our new niece or nephew.
3. My brother is coming home this week!
4. Air conditioning in this 90+ degree weather.
(yes, that's the pregnancy talking!)
5. The ability to just spend days at home when it's this hot out.
6. New highlights in my hair - I love a good freshening up!
7. Getting bumped to the top of the cancellation list when my appointment
wasn't actually until the 29th. (thank you Lisa!!)
8. A freezer full of freshly picked Michigan cherries and raspberries.
Now bring on the blueberries!
9. Date night this past Friday which meant some good, uninterrupted conversation with Eric.
10. Claire's bedtime prayer tonight including "thank you that today was a good day"

in all your ways submit to him,

Insta-Friday

Here's a bit about our week for all you Instagram lovers!Claire was lucky enough to be the flower girl in the wedding of her former babysitter. Flower girl privileges included getting hair and make up done with all the bridesmaids. Talk about BIG stuff for a three year old!
It was painful for her to have to sit and wait through the first dances at the reception. She kept turning and asking me when it was everyone else's turn to dance. And rest assured, once Black Eyed Peas "I've Got a Feeling" came on, she was on the dance floor with no hesitation!
~
After all the whirlwind that comes with an out of town wedding, our week settled w.a.y. down which was just what we needed.A golden retriever fresh back from the groomer may cause Eric to roll his eyes,
but it sure makes me and my vacuum happy. These may be my favorite little boy purchase yet, teeny tiny boy Crocs! My mother in law took Claire cherry picking, YUM! I've been a laundry-doing fool ever since as they manage to stain everything they touch, but they're so worth it.Michigan berry picking is awesome. We're past strawberry picking, but now on to raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries will be ready in about another week. Claire and I picked 5 quarts of raspberries and I already wish we had more!and the best part about spending a morning raspberry picking was certainly the raspberry smoothies we had as soon as we got home!
~
Happy Friday everyone!
Now please excuse me while I go eat more berries...

Monday's 10 Things

Here's what I'm most thankful for, right now!
~
1. Eric's week and a half long vacation, we loved having him around!
2. Having a summer place in a great town that we can escape to.
3. Almost two weeks of being "unplugged" from the computer
(hence the really lame blog lately!)
4. Surviving being the "mother of the flower girl".
Whew! It was awesome, but stressful all at the same time.
5. Watching Claire itching to get on the dance floor,
then breaking it down with Eric!
6. Great new family pictures, and I've only had a sneak peek of a couple so far.
7. Another week, another load of veggies from our CSA.
And I'm finally starting to figure out what to do with them all!
8. My brother will be home from Hawaii next week for an extended visit!
9. A new niece or nephew that's scheduled to make his or her appearance next week as well!
10. A good report at my monthly check up today, baby's growing just as he should be and his little heart is just beating like crazy!

Happy Friday!
~
Eric has had this entire week off from work, so we headed to our house in Grand Haven for some family time. We committed to a week of no Facebook or Twitter on our phones, and and no computer use which turned out to be really nice actually. I did still snap some pictures with my cell phone along the way, because let's face it, Instagram pictures are just too fun to take a week off!
~
(are you addicted too? Find me on Instagram (coraannedesigns) and let me know so I can follow you as well!)watching a storm roll in over Lake Michiganin our backyard is the world's largest hydrangea bush
I can't take credit for it, it was there when we bought the house,
but it sure is nice always having a spot to cut some fresh flowers!this was the "pre-bite" picture,
she really did like the corn once she tasted it!my parents were kind enough to take Claire for one night so we could go on a date. It happened to fall on the 9th anniversary of the day Eric proposed to me, (and I'm so glad he did!)at the Farmer's Market
I'll take all of them, please!our front porchI hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!
